General Counsel (Sydney, AU), this role forms part of a global team.
The Role
This role will bring critical legal support to the US Akaysha business. You will work closely with the US team and the global legal team, including the General Counsel, to provide legal and strategic support in the complete life cycle of a project from origination to execution and then onto delivery and to implement legal processes and structure in the operation of the organization.

The Role
This role will bring critical legal support to the US Akaysha business. You will work closely with the US team and the global legal team, including the General Counsel, to provide legal and strategic support in the complete life cycle of a project from origination to execution and then onto delivery and to implement legal processes and structure in the operation of the organization.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- You will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, reviewing associated documentation for the life cycle of the project and work closely with external counsel to ensure documentation is delivered in a timely manner.
- You will be responsible for other BAU legal advice around property, employment, WHS, technology and broader commercial matters.
- You will work closely with the General Counsel to enforce the compliance function for the US region.
- From time to time, you will advise on regulatory matters affecting the renewable energy space across the US region.
- You will develop relationships and regularly liaise with external counsel across the US region.
- Working closely with wider team on tenders and procurement.
- As the team is lean and fluid you will have the opportunity to provide input in and around strategy and other areas of interest.

- Our ideal candidate will have 5 years PAE.
- Must have solid transactional and commercial contracting background – which could be from projects, corporate/M&A, or general commercial.
- Experience in negotiating contracts with various stakeholders.
- Very good drafting experience across a range of commercial contracts.
- Strong attention to detail in drafting and reviewing contracts as well as managing transactional processes.
- Ability to manage a number of workstreams across different projects at the same time.
- Good presentation and communication skills.
- Real interest in and passion for the energy transition and keen to join a growing firm to make a difference with their legal skills.
