POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Controller is responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions. The Controller’s primary responsibilities include supervising the monthly close process; supervising accounts payable, payroll, and weekly & monthly financial reporting; assisting in monthly preparation of a reforecast; assisting in annual preparation of a budget. The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the parent company (InfraStripe) and indirectly to the General Manager of AKCA, LLC.
Pay is negotiable based upon prior experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the accounting department by maintaining accurate and timely financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements and annual budgets and audits.
- Supervise the Accounts Payable department and ensure timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable and purchase orders, including overseeing invoicing and posting cash for all US operations.
- Supervise the Payroll department and ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll related taxes and payroll withholding including union benefits for all US operations.
- Work with CFO to develop accurate and timely work and to facilitate monthly reporting to executive management and the Board.
- Assist in preparation of annual budget.
- Review and record journal entries required to reflect monthly activity.
- Prepare documentation supporting the monthly close process and month-end balances.
- Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
- Prepare monthly financial statements.
- Prepare year-to-date cash flow statements.
- Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances.
- Maintain fixed asset records to coordinate quarterly inventory of fixed assets with the information technology department.
- Establish and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of all processes, systems, and data.
- Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.
- Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure accurate and timely production of all financial information.
- Assist with acquisition activities, including developing financial models, due diligence reviews and integration activities.
- Oversee the acquisition-related purchase and accounting adjustments.
- Develop accounting policies and procedures.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and develop ad hoc reports as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting; an MBA is a plus.
- CPA is preferred but not required.
- 10 years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector.
- 5 years’ experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
- 5 years in a position equivalent to a controller or with greater responsibilities.
- Construction accounting experience required.
- Experience in ERP or Accounting software implementation strongly preferred.
- Strong ethical standards.
- Ability to handle payroll including the stresses that are associated with this important responsibility.
- Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
- Accountable for specific performance.
- Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same.
- Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
- Exceptional work ethic.
- Exceptional Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
