Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its New York office. Working with the firm's Litigation Practice Group, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and possess a minimum of 5 years’ litigation experience, preferably in a regional or national law firm setting. A Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification is preferred; however, equivalent experience will be considered.
Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications and litigation support systems;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Relativity;
- Factual research experience;
- Fact record cite-checking experience;
- Working knowledge of the New York/Federal Rules of Civil Procedures and New York Statutes;
- Trial support experience; and
- Document production experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and support all aspects of a heavy litigation practice, including the ability to intake, organize, and process large amounts of data to present to attorneys and clients;
- Effectively handle the multiple and varied responsibilities of case management and trial preparation;
- Draft motion, discovery objections, and basic pleadings;
- Summarizing depositions and preparing exhibits, witness and exhibit lists, and PowerPoint presentations;
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and produce an accurate and high-quality work product are essential requirements for this position; and
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
Bonus: Discretionary holiday bonus
