About Us: Our clinicians offer a full scope of occupational medicine services designed to help reduce healthcare costs, while minimizing lost work time and increasing employee productivity. To accomplish these goals, Akeso Occupational Health is outcome focused and provides medical care on an urgent or appointment basis for occupational injuries and illnesses. We also design modified work and rehabilitation programs to enable injured employees to return to work as soon as possible.

Job Summary: As a Physician Assistant, you will contribute to the patient experience from start to finish. This role demands multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Your role will be to help with patient flow during the day and communicate instructions to patients.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under a supervised physician.
  • Contributes to physician’s efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
  • Recommends options and courses of action for patient care.
  • Implements physician directives.
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examination including, updating and studying medical histories.
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests such as x-rays and laboratory studies and interpreting test results.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wound infections.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by providing normal growth and development information and providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living.
  • Provides community of care by developing and implementing patient-management plans.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publication(s), establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Develops health care team staff by providing information, education opportunities and experimental growth opportunities.
  • On-call shifts are required.

Requirements:

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year experience, 2000 clinical hours, and experience in Occupational Health.
  • Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Current California Physician Assistant License.
  • National Provider Identification Number (NPI).
  • DEA Registration Number.
  • BCLS.
  • CPR and AED Certified.
  • Understands general medical and surgical conditions based on knowledge of the indications, contraindications, and side effects.
  • Maintains accurate, and complete medical records.
  • Understanding of the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA, and OSHA.
  • Warm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills.
  • Team player

The base salary is determined on the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience, and is subject to change based on various internal and external factors.
