Role
Akili develops innovative, clinically-validated prescription digital treatments that challenge the status quo of medicine by presenting themselves as engaging gaming experiences. We're looking for a passionate VP of Engineering to lead and grow a team of world-class software engineers, QA testers and data scientists with a culture that emphasizes serving our patients, caregivers and HCPs.
Scope
As the leader of Akili's engineering team, you will:
- Define and communicate the vision for our technology platform and drive the development of our technology roadmap to help us quickly scale our digital therapeutic model
- Partner closely with engineering, product and business stakeholders to align on and refine business needs, requirements, and priorities
- Manage engineering personnel, budgets, and processes, removing roadblocks and continuously improving execution and quality
- Nurture the partnership between Product and Engineering so that there is effective and efficient collaboration at every level of planning and execution.
- Lead the engineering team and strategically add to their ranks to be able to rapidly tackle challenges in a fast pace and evolving environment
- Give the team clear performance objectives and goals, offer effective feedback and coach them in their ongoing development
- Nurture an evolvable architecture that nimbly supports product and business expansion
- Foster a culture of continuous innovation across functions, leveraging expertise throughout the organization and best-in-class technology to bring new product capability to market

You Have
- 15 years of professional software engineering experience
- 5 years of leading teams of 20 engineers
- Strong organization-building background with a focus on innovation, infrastructure development, and team building & motivation
- Demonstrated track record of recruiting, managing, motivating, and retaining a multi-site engineering team
- High level of executive presence demonstrated by the ability to act as the company's technical representative to cross-functional leadership
- You understand how to build architecture and scale it. Proven record of scaling services
- A track record of execution
- Insight into privacy, security, and accounting implications of architectural/design choices
- Experience developing and implementing procedural and technical controls for compliance with regulatory and industry standards
- Bonus:

- Experience leading game development teams
Compensation:
Cash Compensation: $280k - $330k base salary plus additional incentive compensation
