The Akira Back food runner position is responsible for assisting the kitchen, servers, and bartenders with food service, proper set-up, and maintenance of functioning spaces, as well as serving guests and keeping the side stations clean and well stocked.

- Be a brand advocate by providing guests with accurate information regarding our restaurant, menus, and pricing
- Anticipate guest’s needs and ensure they are met per company’s service standards
- Receives food and ensures proper presentation from the kitchen. If specific dish is to be consumed in a specific manner, communicate it thoroughly to the guest
- Delivers food to restaurant areas. Promptly delivers all orders to appropriate sections, tables, and seat numbers. Ensure that all ordered food is announced and described thoroughly to guests at their tables
- Ensure that food ordered by guests is served properly and presented to Akira Back standards
- Provide service to servers and bartenders in a timely manner
- Inform manager/server if guests have any issues when food is delivered
- Understand the food temperature danger zone
- Assist with loading/unloading of miscellaneous equipment, such as boxes, food, and beverage product
- Assist in set up, service, and break down of areas as assigned. Assist with the movement of tables / chairs through restaurant as needed and dictated by service and management direction
- Working knowledge of product identification
- Check tables, chairs, countertops for cleanliness as well as service stations
- Clean spills, debris, or broken glass according to guidelines of Company/departmental policy/procedures
- Inform management of any complaint, comments, or incidents. Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude
- Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all state and federal liquor laws. Maintain company safety and sanitation standards
- Appear in uniform for all shifts and promotional activities at scheduled time
- Help maintain bar and table cleanliness throughout shift (if applicable). Clean all spills and waste immediately and place all trash in proper receptacles
- Inform management of any complaint, comments, or incidents
- Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout shift
- Report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations
- Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude
- Ensure nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed
- Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to a manager immediately
- Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma preferred
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Valid Driver’s License
- 21 years of age
- Texas Food Handlers Card
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
WORKING KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in hospitality working in a high-volume or upscale restaurant
