The Site Assessment and Remediation practice at AKRF delivers value on projects of all scopes and sizes, from individual lots and single-use buildings to large-scale mixed-use developments, corporate and institutional campuses, renewable energy facilities, and infrastructure improvements. We seek an entry environmental scientist/geologist/engineer to support our growing Site Assessment and Remediation practice in delivering healthier, safer, and more sustainable sites to our clients. This position could be based in our New York City or White Plains Offices. The position entails field-related assignments in the NYC-metro area, which requires local travel. Non-field assignments will be conducted in hybrid.
Job Responsibilities:
• Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
• Phase II/Subsurface/Remedial Investigations including logging borings and soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling.
• Remediation oversight and community air monitoring related to brownfield redevelopment.
• Oversight of subcontractors such as drillers, excavation companies, and remedial contractors.
• Data interpretation, report preparation and writing (Work Plans, Phase II and Remedial Investigation Reports, Remedial Plans, etc.).
Essential Requirements:
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
• Familiarity with EQuIS a plus.
Compensation will range from $65,000 - $72,000, and commensurate with experience.
