Summary:

This position is in the Department of Visual, Performing and Communication Arts within the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavioral Sciences. The position is a full-time (9-month) faculty position. The rank and tenure-status of position is negotiable based on qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsiblities:

  • Teaches graduate communication and leadership courses, in both face-to-face and online environments.
  • Recruits and advises students. Participates in research projects. Serves as a mentor to graduate students. Conducts an active research/publication agenda.
  • Provides service to the university, community, and profession.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:


Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.)

  • An earned doctorate in Communications, Telecommunications, Mass Communication or Mass media.
  • Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment.
  • Documented commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
  • Evidence of research and grant writing.
  • Experience in teaching a wide variety of courses.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology in the classroom
  • Expertise and willingness to teach in both areas of telecommunications and the communication specialist program.

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.
