QUICKBOOKS BOOKKEEPER
Summary/Objective
The purpose of this position is to record and keep track of all money that flows in and out of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation.
Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions

- Records and documents all deposits
- Reconciles cash and all bank accounts
- Maintains an accurate general ledger; making adjustments as needed
- Issues invoices to and posts payments from clients
- Manages accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Provides expense account analysis as requested
- Keeps record of fixed assets, acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation
- Ensures that journal and adjusting entries are prepared and entered in an accurate and timely manner
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations
- Reconciles monthly credit card statement
- Ties out A/R aging with general ledger at month-end
- Assists with the month-end closing process
- Tracks scholarship funding and distribution balances
- Assists with the preparation of the annual budget
- Prepares financial statements as needed by the Board of Directors and Executive Director
- Meets or exceeds normal and customary GAAP and other standards
- Aids in internal and external audit
- Follows written financial procedures
- Attends weekly staff meetings
- Maintains a positive public image for the Foundation
- Assists with clerical work as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Job Specification
Required Education and Experience
Work experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent and relevant full charge bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks expertise. Must be extremely organized and be able to multi-task. Must be very detail oriented and proficient in Excel. Must possess knowledge of accounting and reporting standards and requirements. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees, guests, and contractors.
Work Environment/Physical Demands Summary
This position has the following special requirements:
- Sitting for extended periods of time (6-8hrs) at desk operating computer terminal, review reports.
- Walking, climbing (stairs) to access other departments.
- Carrying, lifting items such as boxes and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds to waist height.
- Sight, reading, feeling, wrist movements to operate computer terminals, write documents, review reports, operate calculators.
- Talking, hearing to instruct employees and assist guests and contractors in person and over the telephone.
This position involves working in a climate-controlled office environment. This position works in a confined area with other employees. This position deals extensively with guests, contractors, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
