JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an associate’s degree, minimum of 48 semester hours of accredited coursework at an institution of higher learning, or acceptable minimum scores on the WorkKeys test
- Results of a tuberculin skin test
- Background check that meets requirements
- One reference
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with program teachers, administrators, and staff,
- Ability to use oral and written communication effectively,
- Effective written and oral communication skills,
- Skilled in working with children, and
- Ability to physically and emotionally fulfill the job requirements
JOB GOAL
To assist classroom teachers in carrying out the responsibilities of and meeting the goals of the K-5 mathematics intervention program.
SUPERVISOR:
School Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comprehend and carry out instructions of the classroom teacher
- Work with individual and groups of students as instructed
- Assist teacher with clerical tasks such as filing and typing
- Assist in preparation of classroom supplies and instructional materials as instructed
- Assist in providing a nurturing environment for students
- Assist in supervising students at all times
- Assist in implementing daily learning activities in accordance with program goals and curriculum
- Interact positively with parents and refer questions and concerns to the literacy teacher
- Participate in all trainings deemed necessary by the Lead Mathematics Intervention Teacher
- Follow established policies and procedures to safeguard health and safety of students
- Maintain confidentiality regarding educational information
- Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication
- Be professional and courteous at all times
- Work collaboratively with all program and school staff
- Assist with student transition between activities
- Assist with student snacks and breaks
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
