What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Programmer position at Alamance County Government?
Alamance Parks is looking for a part-time programmer. Do you have a passion for people and activities? Do you enjoy getting people together? Are you the event planner in your circle of friends? As a part-time programmer you will be tasked with creating, scheduling and executing recreation programs from crafts to athletic activities and anything in between. We can use your experience in Historical programming, environmental education, and outdoor adventure.
This position is responsible for planning, scheduling and implementing recreation programs. Individual must have excellent public relation skills and previous experience working with individuals of all ages. Position requires that you must be able to work flexible hours with mostly evening and weekend hours required. This is a year-round part-time position. Your specific schedule will be set by the programs already in place and by the ones you create.

- Previous experience working with the general public
- Previous experience organizing and leading events of any size
- Strong creative drive
- Past experience as a consumer of recreation programs
- Previous experience with Historical Interpretation and presentation a plus
- Ability to get CPR and First Aid certifications (we provide)

Computer Skills: Must have a basic to intermediate functional knowledge of computers. Experience with internet, email, Microsoft Word, preferred.
License/Credentials/Requirement: Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
Other Important Position Information: Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position. This position is a part-time non-benefited position in which hours will vary and will average no greater than 19 hours per week.
