What are the responsibilities and job description for the 35mm Operator (Contractor) position at Alamo Drafthouse?
POSITION SUMMARY
The 35mm Operators will help to ensure Alamo sets the standards of quality in public exhibition and be able to deliver that when showing a 35mm print. While this job is temporary it allows you to show movies the way the director intended. This is a special opportunity to run a system that is almost lost to time. Come help us bring 35mm to your area. Contract will begin 07/20 and run until 08/03.

- Maintains the highest safety standards and follows all protocols to keep our teams and guests healthy - is knowledgeable about all Alamo policies and procedures
- Responsible for all content allocation and ensuring playlists meet correct show flow
- Tracks and inspects 35mm prints
- Ensures picture and audio meets company presentation standards with daily checks
- Reports any visual and/or audio issues to presentation department
- Reports any use of splicers to any print to the Technical Manager
- Keeps the projection booth clean, organized and safe at all times
- Follows all daily, weekly tasks to ensure 35mm system is running optimal
- Safely changes xenon lamps in 35mm
- Any other tasks assigned by the Technical Manager
- Maintains a working knowledge of 35mm and/or 70mm projection systems
- Performs routine cleaning after each 35mm run
- Ability to use a make table to rewind tables
- Basic IT technical skills and troubleshooting
- Experience with changeover or platter systems
- Basic knowledge of 35mm troubleshooting
- Comprehensive knowledge of 35mm lamphouses
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of cinema 35mm audio systems; SR, SRD, DTS, SDDS
- Experience with organization suites, like Google docs and airtable
- Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Willingness to work unusual work hours (lots of evenings and weekends)
- Understanding that is a temporary position
Salary : $30 - $35
