Certified Dietary Manager
Must be a certified dietary manager in good standing with the State of Tennessee or capable of acquiring certification.
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job. Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, government regulators, and to work cooperatively with other employee at all levels. Must be able to speak and understand English. Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance. Must meet all local regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Supervise other staff in the day to day facility operations of the dietary department. Make job assignments and set priorities. Orientate new staff and participate in recruitment and selections. Communicate policies, assist and coach as needed. Monitor work assignments, provide feedback, evaluate performance, and discipline as needed. Maintain records, manage budgets and supplies, and fulfill department head responsibilities. Ensure equipment and work areas is clean and safe and orderly; and strict adherence to procedures regarding cleaners or hazardous materials or objects; ensure Universal Precautions, infections control, isolation, fire safety, and sanitation practices and procedures are followed. Promptly address any hazardous conditions or equipment; resident assessments, MDS’s and care plans; visit with residents to ensure likes/dislikes are conformed to provided this within the physicians guidelines. Plan facility and individual resident menus in conjunction with the dietitian or dietary consultant and other department heads. Participate in care plan development. Ensure food and supplies are purchased within budget, are timely available for each meal. Ensure food is nutritional, appetizing, prepared as planned, and served in a timely and pleasant manner. Ensure appropriate meals/snacks are served to residents with special dietary needs. Ensure all utensils, dishes equipment and work areas are cleaned on a timely basis. Ensure proper storage of foods and supplies. Conduct and attend orientation and inservices required by the state and participate in training, education activities and staff meetings. Maintain professional competence through attendance and participation in continuing education programs, seminars, and professional programs. Other duties as assigned

Access, use or release of resident or facility information is strictly prohibited unless done so in accordance with our facility’s established privacy policies and procedures. It is the responsibility of all employees to protect resident and facility information. Any known or suspected unauthorized release of resident or facility information must be promptly reported.
All individuals, corporations, agents, consultants, vendors, etc., doing business with or acting on behalf of our facility must understand and adhere to our Corporate Compliance Program Plan.
Promptly report accidents, incidents, unsafe and hazardous condition and equipment to supervisor, and ensure that established safety rules and regulations are followed at all times. Monitor environment for established safety, fire and disaster, infection control and all other departmental policies and procedures are followed; and to ensure cleanliness and safety of work and treatment areas. Understand and follows safety and sanitation rules.
Physical and Sensory Requirement (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices) Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, heavy lifting, grasping, pushing and pulling, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to hear and respond to pages; ability to read and write, ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel, and support agencies, vendors, consultants, ability to read and write in English, ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to distinguish smells, taste, and temperatures, and ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to understand and apply training and inservice education.
