Safety Manager

Position Description

Alan Wire is seeking a Safety Manager for both of it's plant locations in Sikeston, MO.
You will be responsible for ensuring that Alan Wire safety programs and performance meet or exceed OSHA, State and Federal requirements. In addition, plan, implement, and coordinate programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, as well as motivating and educating associates to ensure that Alan Wire will become a recognized leader in safety.

Job Responsibilities

• Observe job performance and search for any possible site hazards to ensure that the company complies with all regulatory guidelines and provide direction to management and associates for immediate actions.
• Identify conditions which could produce accidents and communicate to operation management so that conditions can be eliminated.
• Conduct post-accident investigations and make recommendations to prevent accident from reoccurring.
• Assist operation management on accident documentation.
• Plan, implement and coordinate programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Assist in development of Alan Wire Operating Procedures, policies and procedures for safety.
• Maintain data for various safety statistics such as first aids, recordables, and review data for trends.
• Conduct training on safety, new associate orientation, as required.
• Counsel/coach associates when policy infractions are noted and inform appropriate supervision for additional counseling and possible disciplinary actions.

Job Qualifications

• Preferred 5 years of experience working in the field. Bachelors degree required.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office-Office, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
• OSHA certification is a plus
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold environments.

Salary : $56,200 - $71,200
