Nurse Practitioner (np) Responsibilities

  • Assesses acutely ill residents to decrease unnecessary re-hospitalizations and emergency room visits
  • Assesses residents for potentially at risk medical events such as wounds, strokes, falls et al. through unit rounds
  • Provides education to staff, families and others on a routine basis based on identified educational needs
  • Assists and directs the Center in standardization of clinical protocols, care regimens and formularies
  • Develops short and long-range plans for the nursing department that are compatible with those of the facility

Np Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college or university
  • Current nurse practitioner licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
  • Master's prepared in adult or geriatric specialty
  • Able to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills and have a positive attitude and demeanor
  • Highly knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations, laws and guidelines pertaining to long-term care administration
