Job Description Summary
Current NYS RN License. Experience in a surgical practice preferred. Must have at least three to five years’ clinical experience or equivalent combination of education, training. CPR/ BLS certifications are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides and assists physician(s) with triage of patients.
• Provides initial patient assessment and ensure that patient information is available in the electronic health record (EHR) for physicians.
• Performs and/or assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and orders as required.
• Collects lab specimens and submits them for processing, as required.
• Follows-up on all labs as required.
• Follow up on patients after procedures.
• Maintains and monitors approved standards of practice to ensure that regular and special procedures are in a safe and competent manner.
• Facilitates and coordinates patient and family education regarding care and treatment programs, health choices, and other factors to ensure compliance with treatment programs and/or prevent illness or injury.
• Ensure quality initiatives and process improvements are compliant.
• Keep up on and complete all CLIA/Joint Commission; weekly monthly regulations
• Complete yearly modules and AMC competencies
• Complete daily logs, example: all Joint commission regulations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to work independently
• Strong health assessment and clinical management skills
• Advanced knowledge of the Nursing Process
• Broad knowledge of program planning and evaluation

• Good computer skills and knowledge

• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
