What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plastic Surgeon position at Albany Medical Center?
The Division of Plastic Surgery at Albany Medical Center is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and in the subspecialty of hand surgery. The Division has a strategic plan of ongoing growth in clinical care, education and research, and candidates with a desire to contribute to this growth will be preferred.
Candidates are sought with an interest in hand surgery and general plastic surgery. Qualified applicants should satisfy the criteria to be appointed as a faculty member with demonstrated commitment and excellence in aspects of our tripartite mission of clinical care, teaching, and research. The successful candidate will contribute to a collegial atmosphere and will be interested in collaboration.
Required qualifications include an M.D., successful completion of an approved Plastic Surgery residency program, board eligible/certified in plastic surgery, hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of New York. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected. Fellowship training in hand surgery is required.
The Albany Med Health System is the only academic health system in North-Eastern New York State, servicing a population of > 3 million people. The Division of Plastic Surgery has an integrated residency program with 2 residents per year and is involved in medical student education and research.
