Position Overview:
- Develops, implements and maintains project-specific quality assurance/quality control programs and procedures.
- Discovers design flaws, identifies solutions to design problems and represents the Company as general contractor proposing economical solutions to the satisfaction of client and contractor.
- Interprets engineering drawings, specifications and code requirements and ensures that the contractors have all of the required quality plans, procedures and certifications.
- Surveillance of all subcontractor quality programs, including periodic audits of their performance and reporting.
- Assists in schedule analysis with respect to quality requirements.
- Documents solutions to problems in accordance with project specifications.
- Handles the surveillance of all construction activities and the preparation of field reports.
- Inspects material received from purchase orders to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Receives supplier quality requirements and applies them to the project.
- Supports planning, development and implementation of vendor surveillance activities for procured items.
- Performs inspections within field of expertise.
- Manages third party inspection service for bolting, welding, nondestructive testing, concrete testing, soil inspections and others as may be required.
- Documents inspections and related quality control activities as required by Company policy.
- Guides employees, project management, subcontractors and others to isolate and resolve quality issues.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of comparable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
