Quality Engineer

Position Overview:

• Develops, implements and maintains project-specific quality assurance/quality control programs and procedures.
• Discovers design flaws, identifies solutions to design problems and represents the Company as general contractor proposing economical solutions to the satisfaction of client and contractor.
• Interprets engineering drawings, specifications and code requirements and ensures that the contractors have all of the required quality plans, procedures and certifications.
• Surveillance of all subcontractor quality programs, including periodic audits of their performance and reporting.
• Assists in schedule analysis with respect to quality requirements.
• Documents solutions to problems in accordance with project specifications.
• Handles the surveillance of all construction activities and the preparation of field reports.
• Inspects material received from purchase orders to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Receives supplier quality requirements and applies them to the project.
• Supports planning, development and implementation of vendor surveillance activities for procured items.
• Performs inspections within field of expertise.
• Manages third party inspection service for bolting, welding, nondestructive testing, concrete testing, soil inspections and others as may be required.
• Documents inspections and related quality control activities as required by Company policy.
• Guides employees, project management, subcontractors and others to isolate and resolve quality issues.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of comparable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
