- Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Salary: $35.03/hr
Position Summary:
Provide direct instruction to adult students. Responsibilities include lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records. Requires using inquiry and cooperative teaching strategies to deliver instruction and integrating technology into learning.
Qualifications:
- Valid MN K-12 teaching license.
- Bi-lingual skills desired.
- Demonstrated use of 21st Century strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at high levels.
- Previous experience in working with adult learners in an interactive, results-oriented environment preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment with high expectations for students and staff.
- Ability to work as a teacher-leader in building a collaborative learning partnership highly prized in a successful candidate.
- Digital literacy skills required, including integration of digital literacy into the student learning experience.
- Consistent and reliable attendance.
- Proficient in the following areas: fraction computations using no calculator, ratio/proportion, percents, measurement with unit conversions, Geometry, and Trigonometry.
- The candidate will use/teach using a scientific calculator, specifically the TI-30XS Multiview.
- The candidate will be able to explain difficult concepts in a "user friendly" manner offering various solution ideas when needed
- The candidate will have a willingness to familiarize oneself and teach math application problems using Ohm's Law, Electrical Power formulas, micrometers, and metric micrometers.
