Avid Operator
We are seeking a part-time Avid Operator to join OEG’s Event Presentation team. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting highlight packages, editing day-of segments and content management. The successful candidate will be a life-long learner and have an aptitude for, and interest in, turning around requests in a quickly and professional manor. This person will thrive as part of a tight-knit group and is not shy to support the team through various Live Events, happening mainly on evenings and weekends. This person will have a strong understanding of Avid and the NEXIS video management systems, while also having a keen eye on telling stories with their editing.
Your Focus in This Role
- Ensures all requested day-of video segments are finished and delivered before they are needed.
- Working with voice-over talent for capturing and ensuring quality control.
- Properly tags all highlights to ensure proper archiving and easy searching for future projects.
- Collaborates with the rest of the Game Presentation group to always improve on the show.

Preferred Technical Skills
- Avid Media Composer and Avid Nexis video management systems
- Additional knowledge in Abobe Premier Pro
- Image creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
- Basic IT and networking skills (including FTP protocols)
- Computer hardware and software troubleshooting
- Good Hockey and Sports IQ
- Microsoft Office productivity tools
Education & Experience
- Graduation from a post-secondary institution with a diploma in digital video production.
- One to three years’ experience in a related position within the industry.
- Ability to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
