No Weekends or Holidays and No On-Call
The Albuquerque Ambulatory Eye Surgery Center (AAESC) is currently looking to fill the following positions:
Position: Registered Nurse
Job Status: Full-Time (4-10hr shifts)
Registered Nurse (RN) Job Duties in the Operating Room May Include:
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses.
- Coordinate patients’ care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Demonstrate general and specific knowledge in a variety of ophthalmic and plastic procedures and implements the principles of surgical asepsis according to AAMI and AORN Standards.
- Perform circulating and/or scrubbing duties, as needed demonstrating high standards of care following AORN, OSHA, and AAESC policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain an efficient pace in the OR to avoid delays and ensure rapid room turn over. Facilitates and ensures patient preparedness for surgery.
- Communicates and prioritizes efficiently and effectively.
- Assist the anesthesia provider during the induction and emergence from anesthesia.
- Monitor physiological alterations recognizing symptoms of cardiac arrest, respiratory distress and/or other impending crisis.
Skills/ Requirements:
- RN License (must be in good standing and active)
- ACLS and BLS Certified- Preferred**
- One year of Operating Room experience, preferred
**Both certifications can be certified and renewed on site if necessary
The Albuquerque Ambulatory Eye Surgery Center is a joint venture, out-patient ophthalmology surgery center designed to provide quality care to the community.
We provide a gamut of Ophthalmology services:
- Cataracts
- Glaucoma
- Oculoplastics
- Cornea
- Retina
Our staff is comprised of nurses, surgical scrub technicians, and nursing assistants who work side by side with surgeons and anesthesia providers in planning, facilitating and evaluating surgical care to patients.
We are currently looking for motivated individuals to work in our four (4) Operating Rooms and PreOp/ PACU areas. We are a fast-paced environment providing care to over 1,000 patients per month. We are a fun, talented, results driven, team-oriented group.
