Fleet Diesel Technician

ALC Freight is a FedEx Ground service provider with dedicated contracted routes throughout the Northeast. To support our growing fleet, we have custom built our own dedicated maintenance facility handling all fleet maintenance services.

ALC Freight has an immediate opening for a full time mid-level experienced Diesel Technician. He or she will be responsible for day-to-day preventative maintenance and general repairs on a fleet of 20 Freightliner Cascadia's and New Cascadia's. Detroit Diesel engine experience is preferred but is not required.

Job responsibilities can involve but are not limited to:

• Maintaining and repairing vehicles in compliance with NHTSA, DOT, and company standards
• Accurately diagnose and repair vehicle systems including but not limited to: air brakes, suspension, steering, cab and chassis electrical
• Assist in diagnosing and performing repairs using DTNA Techlit/EZ-Wiring, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link
• Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately using internal web-based applications
• Evaluate completed work prior to vehicle release and seek supervisor approval where required
• Notify Fleet Manager of potentially dangerous equipment and take corrective action
• Move vehicles safely between terminal and work area (CDL A or B preferred but not required)
• Adhere to ALC's standards, policies, and procedures
• Perform other related responsibilities as requested or required

Requirements / Qualifications:

• 2 Years of Diesel Mechanic experience required
• Must be able to handle a wide variety of repairs
• Have the ability to lift 50lbs
• Must be equipped with own tools commonly required for diesel engine repair/maintenance
