Host/Food Runner

The Spot, in Georgetown, is currently looking for a Host/Food Runner to join our team!

Essential Responsibilities of the Food Runner:

• Quickly read and organize food tickets, identify dishes, remember table and seat numbers, and deliver food to guests when all items for one ticket are complete
• Communicate effectively with kitchen team members, servers and guests
• Communicate guest requests to servers
• Assist the serving staff as necessary
• Work as an effective member of a team with the unified goal of delivering an exceptional experience to all guests

Essential Responsibilities of the Host:

• Greet guests and provide a welcoming atmosphere at the start of the dining experience
• Answer phones, receive take out orders and answer guest questions accordingly
• Manage the wait list and evenly seat servers to ensure a high level of service can be provided to every guest
• Communicate with servers regarding their tables and with the kitchen regarding levels of business
• Assist the servers as needed, including clearing and resetting tables and refilling guests’ water glasses

• Ability to memorize table and seat numbers
• Attention to detail
• High level of organization and for hosts, an ability to think outside of the box and think quickly on your feet
• Ability to maintain grace under fire in a fast paced atmosphere

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
