We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, passionate people to join Alcon! As a Calibration Technician, you will be a part of our Metrology team at Huntington, WV entrusted to perform calibrations of measurement and test equipment (M&TE) supporting manufacturing processes.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in the electrical, dimensional, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or chemical subject areas to ensure measurement accuracy
- Perform corrective actions to address identified measurement problems
- Identify measurement errors and performing adjustments
- Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards
- Support the introduction of new M&TE
- Assist with the development of calibration procedures and surveying existing procedures for precision
- Use the Calibration Management System for recording calibration data and crafting certificates
- Identify and implementing improvements to the calibration program
- Build and maintaining strong relationships with those we serve
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 3 Years of Relevant Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience performing calibration of measurement & test equipment in a manufacturing, test, or R&D environment.
- Accredited degree in electronics, mechanical or related technical field or military PMEL training.
- Solid understanding of PLC and/or P.C. controls, pressure/ vacuum, and temperature controllers
- Familiarity with ISO-13485, ISO17025, ISO 10012, and ANSI/NCSL-Z540 quality standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently on tasks
- Demonstrates good fundamental understanding of electronic, mechanical, and temperature systems
- Attention to detail and the ability to adhere to detailed written procedures
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Normal color vision
- Valid state driver’s license
