Description
Acara Solutions is looking for Design Engineer for our client located in Gainesville, TX
- Design coordination of seats and seat components. Coordinates between various customers and vendors.
- Interfaces with Program Manager on project development and design progress.
- Reviews customer requirements and specification and relates them to product design.
- Monitors day-to-day design progress as Needed.
- Assures conformity of product and that engineering deadlines are me.
- Confers with customers and vendors on conceptual configuration and initial design requirements for various new and on-going seat programs.
- Reviews design specifications and incorporates into assigned product.
- Prepares lay outs of overall design task including structural and articulation systems.
- Defines design standards to maintain commonality with existing product line.
- Defines and sets goals as to complete tasks as expeditiously as possible.
- Prepares advanced bill of materials and long-lead item list.
- Review design package to assure conformance to latest specifications and regulations.
- Prepares drawings for release.
- Assumes liaison duties when product reaches the various manufacturing stages.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Mechanical and Energy Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years' years of Design experience.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Mechanical and Energy Engineering.
- Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) or Pro/Engineer.
- Needs advanced knowledge of aircraft seat products.
- Must have good knowledge of materials and production processes, and mechanical knowledge of parts and stress conditions.
- Must be able to interact successfully with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing departments.
- Must be able to function as part of a design team.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers.
- Must possess good planning and prioritizing skill.
- Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
- Ability to read and review written communication.
- Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
- Ability to solve problems and think strategically.
Additional Information:
- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
- This position needs extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment.
- Finger dexterity needed in using misc.
- Office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
