Acara Solutions is hiring a Supplier Performance Manager in Chelmsford, MA.
This is a 6-month contract with possibility for extension
Schedule: 8:00AM-5:00PM in office
Required Travel: Will travel to New Jersey 3X during this project
The Supplier Performance Manage is acting as a company representative in front of supplier and as such is directly in charge of communicating with the supplier's management. In addition, the SPM will need to communicate easily with all managers involved in the activities from Global Category Team Managers, SPM Directors, Head of Operation, Head of Regional Procurement and the central SPM Organization.
Responsibilities:
- Attend daily 8:30am meeting in Chelmsford, MA office with the customer
- Ensures the on-going monitoring of Industrial performances, and sets up the escalation process to provide active support to GBUs
- Issues the Supplier Industrial Scorecards
- Create conditions of success to improve the business development with the selected suppliers
- Implement the SPM methodology able to measure and improve continuously operational performances in conjunction with GBUs needs and in close collaboration with Global procurement, Industry, Operations and central SPM.
- Puts in place advanced event mapping and signal processing techniques in order to anticipate risks and build mitigation plan
- Contributes to the development of SPM tools with Procurement Tools and Processes and SPM central function
- Contributes to the structural alignment of Supplier Development for Industry based to good knowledge of supply base and expertise
- Coach the supplier organization on the implementation of best-in-class supply chain & quality processes
- Drive End to End (from NPI to production) supplier performance (supply chain & quality) to all company entities, worldwide
- Implement operational recovery, performance and development actions (supply chain & quality) at supplier production sites (following supply chain & quality toolbox): define and follow up detailed improvement actions
- Act as a single point of contact between company entities and supplier for managing operational issues
- Ensure improvements of internal inefficiencies affecting supplier performance (drawings, specifications, data pack*) - in coordination with local SPM at worldwide level.
- Provide a coordinated vision on New Product Introduction to suppliers; anticipate company technological roadmaps that could affect future supplier's performance
- Technical culture sufficient to understand the products and their main characteristics and applications
- Be the key point of contact in case of qualifications needs (new sites, engineering changes*); trigger additional resources when needed
- Value stream mapping at manufacturing sites
- Knowledge of advanced methodologies (lean, six sigma, quality*) to develop supplier performance
- Able to define and drive detailed operational improvements at industrial suppliers
- Understanding of product development processes
- Prioritization of development actions
- Alignment of internal customers and stakeholders
- Expert level in supply chain and quality management, Project Management, Manufacturing, advanced level in Lean and quality tools deployment
- Implementation of improvement plans through Value Stream Mapping
- APQP, 6 Sigma
- New product development, production transfers
- Operations management, capacity assessments, industrial maturity assessment and development
- SPM level Training and Certification
- Experience in leading assessment or audits (eg. IPCA)
- Certification in Lean Master, Six-Sigma Black Belt
- Experience working with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards and principles
Pay Rate: $65/hr.

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) [AND] the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible, or able to obtain authorization, for such access.
Requirements:
- 8-10 years of operational position industry experience for complex products (market: high Mix low volume preferable): SPM; Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certification in Lean, Six-Sigma Green Belt
