General Duties:
Provides administrative, correspondence, editorial, and facilitator services in support of the Department of Defense-University Consortium for Cybersecurity (DoD-UC2) Coordination Center, Office of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering for Modernization DDRE(M), National Defense University (NDU) and other educational opportunities from within the DoD and externally through international, federal, state and local governments and private industry. Perform duties under general direction and works independently to achieve specified outcomes. Provide administrative and editorial support. Set up meetings/events to include secluding event/meeting times, consolidating/coordinating agendas, and capturing/coordinating/ publishing minutes. Creates and executes project/event milestone work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Effectively applies methodology and enforces standards to minimize risk on overall effort. Ensures event documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
The NDU was established to consolidate intellectual resources and provide joint higher education for the nation’s defense community. The NDU is a strategic national resource that prepares senior leaders to think and operate effectively at the highest levels in an increasingly dynamic, complex, and unpredictable international security environment. It does this by preparing them to understand, develop, and employ strategies that incorporate all elements of national power.
Specific Duties:
- Establish and maintain a close, pro-active working relationship with (OSD) SO/LIC, Regional Defense Fellowship Program (RDFP), NDU and other educational opportunities from within the DoD and externally through Congress, other USG agencies, the media, and other key stakeholders.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data from leadership, faculty, staff, students, and alumni through interviews and historical documents; interpret data trends and other statistical results in consultation with college leadership and stakeholders.
- Craft written correspondence/descriptions worthy of publication.
- Prepare, coordinate, compile, review, and edit reports, articles, request for information and other documentations.
- Compose all final documents in the style, tone, and syntax consistent with the quality worthy of publication.
- Support the research and writing of government personnel.
- Edit, maintain, and manage the consolidated reports repository of consortium work products on a government site to provide continued access to these reports and other relevant documents. Maintain correspondence/publish material repository for management and historical reference.
- Support/coordinate the compiling, reviewing, and editing of report responses.
- In coordination with university lead, assist in the sharing of reports and other related and supporting documents with (OSD) SO/LIC and Regional Defense Fellowship Program (RDFP)
Experience and Skills:
- 5 years recent work experience as an Editor, Researcher, or similar field.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
- Mastery of the English language, and knowledge of international relations, irregular warfare, military science, and related fields.
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on RDFP’s success.

- Secret security clearance required
Required Education:
- A bachelor's degree is required in a field related to this position such as International Relations, English, Journalism, or Communications
