LOCATION:
Alfa Insurance Home Office
DEPARTMENT:
P&C Underwriting
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required or 5 years insurance experience and CPCU designation.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Possess basic mathematical skills.
- Must be able to apply all knowledge to underwriting personal lines business.
- Ability to make independent decisions (analytical in nature).
- Ability to understand policy language, underwriting rates, rules, and guidelines.
- Ability to convey ideas to others and learn quickly.
DUTIES:
- Underwrite personal lines new business, rewrite new terms, and policy changes while maintaining an acceptable loss ratio.
- Select, classify, and monitor insurance risks to maintain adequate rate for risk and ensure a profitable book of business.
- Maintain acceptable customer service standards and be thorough, consistent, and accurate in underwriting.
HOURS:
Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
