What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Activity Specialist - China Primary School position at Alfond Youth & Community Center?
What time is it? It’s time for you to shine! The Alfond Youth and Community Center is looking for Youth Activities Specialists. You will be responsible for leading a group of children in After-School program activities as well as guiding and assisting the children with adjustment and growth within the program guidelines. Your primary responsibility will be instruction of arts and crafts, games, and education programs. Creativity is highly encouraged. We appreciate new ideas!
This is a part time position, 17-25 hours / week, 2pm - 6pm, Mon - Fri, with additional hours when schools are not in session for students.
With this position we offer free childcare and full membership to the AYCC!

**This position is eligible for the monthly bonus paid by DHHS after required certifications are completed**
Requirements:
A High School education is preferred; however, may be substituted with a GED. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with two years of experience working with children. Applicant must possess excellent communication skills along with the skills necessary to work with groups of children made up of different ages and skill levels. Emotional and mental maturity is necessary as well as creative solutions to any obstacles that may arise. Ability, desire, and basic skills to work with children are a requisite.
- Must have CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to become certified.
- Candidates are required to pass an extensive fingerprinting background screen though the State of Maine, Federal Government and Department of Health and Human Services.
