Position Specifications:

  • Must be a believer of Jesus Christ and demonstrate a Christ-like attitude in performing all work in an effort to exalt our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • Must perform administrative services that frequently involve confidential and/or highly sensitive information. Strong ethical behavior is expected.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to efficiently and effectively edit and manage incoming and outgoing communication systems, such as phone, e-mail, meetings, etc. A high degree of accuracy is expected with regard to written and verbal communications.
  • Must exhibit mature public relation skills, including the ability to relate well to the general public, employees and church body membership while maintaining the integrity of the Church.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office, MS Excel and specialty data base programs.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with others and be able to submit to the spiritual authority of the Lead Pastor and the Director.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment. A positive outlook and approach to problem solving is essential.
  • Must be a self-starter. Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must be detail oriented and goal oriented.
  • Must possess a valid South Carolina drivers’ license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work includes exposure to highly sensitive information, attentiveness to details, and exceptional public relation skills. Confidentiality is required.
  • Plan, organize, and control personal workflow. Work includes data processing using church database system, composing correspondence, purchasing supplies, making travel arrangements, and ensuring that the supervisor’s schedule is reasonable. Must be able to oversee the calendar and general scheduling demands for the Director.
  • Receive visitors. Screen phone calls. May route incoming calls to other areas, if appropriate.
  • Generate recurring and non-recurring reports from database, as required.
  • Coordinate, prepare, setup, and attend events and classes. May coordinate events for volunteers or staff.

Physical demands (with or without reasonable accommodations):

  • Light lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, temperature extremes, exposure to the elements, pushing, pulling, twisting, etc. are required on a regular basis.
  • Lengthy periods at computer, including using repetitive motions.
  • Ability to apply mental processes. Ability to concentrate.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Regular disruptions, ability to deal with critical issues and emotional individuals. Must be able to maintain control under pressure. Multi-tasking situations will exist, frequently under time constraints or other pressures.
  • Ability to change and work in a dynamic, growth oriented environment.
  • Some light local travel is required.
  • Limited exposure to publicly transmitted diseases, such as colds, viruses, etc.

Pay: $12.00 per hour
