What are the responsibilities and job description for the Livestock Supervisor position at Alice Springs Ranch?
Private family ranch in northern Colorado is seeking a Livestock Supervisor to manage all animals’ health, nutrition, safety and training. Animals to be overseen include horses, cows, chickens, pigs.
Work with household and ranch staff to keep this property a positive work environment.
Feeding livestock breakfast/dinner and grain. Filling/cleaning water troughs, feeding cows, checking fences and trails, monitoring pastures for weeds, maintain cleanliness of barn, stalls, tack room, and grain room. Buying and selling of livestock. Assist with all vendors pertaining to livestock – scheduling, planning for work to be completed.
Horse care includes monitoring and set up of veterinarian appointments, farrier appointments, coordinating weed spray appointments for grazing purposes. Maintain health of horses, monitor feed inventory, cleaning and organizing hay, grain, tack, etc. Administer medications and wound care as needed. Assist the veterinarian and farrier as needed.
Chickens care includes clean coop bi-weekly, collect eggs, monitor health and well-being, feeding, monitoring feed inventory.
Pigs care includes monitor health and well-being, feeding, monitoring feed inventory, load livestock for butcher.
Longhorn’s care includes monitor health and well-being, set up veterinarian appointments, feeding, monitoring feed inventory.
In addition to livestock supervision and care, the position will assist household staff in guest services, including providing tours and guided horse trail rides with up to four guests. Morning rides and afternoon rides are planned dependent upon guest request. Livestock supervisor must be comfortable teaching and guiding riders on ranch provided horses.

Work Availability
- General schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Job hours/days may vary based on guest services needs and based upon needs of livestock.

- Base Salary is $50,000 per year; paid semi-monthly
