About this opportunity
We are looking for a contractor to support the role of Revenue Manager for our Revenue Team. This role will be based in either Raleigh, North Carolina; Tempe, Arizona; or Wroclaw, Poland. This is a role that supports the fast growing and globally distributed iTero intraoral scanner business.
You will join a team in transition and growth, challenged to scale and ensure the integrity of our revenue accounting. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager, iTero Revenue Accounting, and work interactively with your globally diverse peers to ensure the accurate accounting and reporting of revenue in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), ASC 606 and company policies. You will be involved with both close activities and a number of on-going integration projects that will allow for many opportunities for growth.
In this highly collaborative role, you will have business partners not only within the Revenue and Controllership functions, but you will also work with regional FP&A leads, Commercial Sales Operations, IT, Tax, Legal, Order Operations, Internal and External Auditors.
We need someone who will take initiative, voice your ideas, help us to obtain information, analyze the results and then synthesize the findings for senior and executive management. You should have prior experience with hardware and software US GAAP revenue accounting and have a specific understanding of the allocation of multiple performance obligations within a contract.
In this role, you will…
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of revenue within the company’s accounting systems by utilizing US GAAP and ASC 606 standards by analyzing and understanding the various product and services offerings and related revenue streams
- Be a key contributor to the month-end revenue close cycle by validating accounting for product and services revenue which includes:
- Adherence to the Corporate Revenue Team close calendar
- Completion and posting general ledger journal entries
- Completion and upload of GL account reconciliations
- Completion and analysis of monthly and quarterly internal and external reporting requirements
- Fluctuation and trend analysis completion and reporting
- Participation in monthly/quarterly meetings with the team and key business partners
- Supporting internal and external audit requests
- Ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding the various systems, flow of transactions, internal controls and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, IT, FP&A, Tax, Finance, and Commercial Teams to effectively communicate and educate about the timing or deferral of revenue recognition and what is required from our partners to adhere to the close deadlines
- Assisting with internal controls, continuous improvement of revenue processes, and applying accounting positions for complex transactions
- Support revenue accounting and system requirements for new products, new go-to-market strategies, and international expansion
- Assist the Sr. Revenue Manager and Director, iTero Revenue Accounting, as needed in review of customer contracts and promotions to apply proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 guidance and company policy
In this role, you’ll need …
- Strong knowledge of and experience in applying revenue guidance under ASC 606, preferably at a technology company
- Experience in managing revenue accounting processes within a large-scale ERP, preferably SAP
- Ability to research technical accounting issues and provide your perspective
- Ability to work both independently and as a trusted teammate in a dynamic environment
- Detail-oriented focus and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, analytical charts, etc.), with the ability to create, present and explain analytic data based on findings
- Proven written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to define problems, analyze data, synthesize, and communicate results, implement policies and operational changes to improve efficiency and achieve organizational objectives
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting/Finance
- CPA, CA or CMA preferred
- 6-10 years of progressive experience – preferably a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience and public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a high-growth environment
