Reports to: Operations Manager

FLSA Status:  Hourly, Non-Exempt  

Pay Rate and Benefits: $12 hourly  

Hours/Week:  Generally works 40 hours per week, subject to overtime.

Position Overview: Under direct supervision, perform general labor functions in the maintenance of village property, landscape maintenance, water or sewer lines, and roadway maintenance.

Minimal Qualifications: Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED) and at least one (1) year of recent documented work experience and/or training in general building, labor, and vehicle and equipment maintenance operation and repair, or in street maintenance and construction and traffic painting and signing work, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and must remain insurable under the Village’s vehicle insurance plan.

Physical Activity Level:  This position is considered moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/ technical nature.

Physical Demands: This position requires frequently lifting or carrying items weighing 10 to 25 lbs., and occasionally lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.  Almost continually stands or walks, and frequently climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.  

Work Environment:  This position generally works outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions and may work in an enclosed vehicle or indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation.  The position requires operating heavy equipment, hand and light power tools to perform construction, maintenance, etc.  

Skills: Ability to perform a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled and manual labor tasks to maintain village facilities, streets, curbs, gutters, waterlines, catch basins, sewers, etc2.
