Responsibilities:
Machine Tender is responsible for leading a paper machine crew, including the setup, operation and cleanup of product manufactured, in a safe and effective manner.
Individuals will be responsible for Safety (Personal, Housekeeping and Environmental), Quality (through compliance to ISO procedures and company masters) and Productivity (process and product improvement) as it applies to the position.
- Operate a paper machine in order to execute a manufacturing schedule which produces wet laid nonwoven products
- Work with Product Development and Process Engineering when conducting new product trials or process improvement trials
- Perform limited product testing as needed to support paper machine operations
- Troubleshoot paper making process when issues arise and determine solutions working as part of a team collaborating with machine crew, supervisors or engineers.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed regulations.
- Must be knowledgeable in the effective use of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts to assist in process improvements, both within Alkegen, and externally at our customers/suppliers.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must adhere to all company policies and safety rules.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently with maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
- Must be able to work extended hours when required.
