Job Requirements:
Manages some or all of the functions for general and property accounting, payroll and benefits accounting, accounts receivable and payables accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting and budgetary controls. Serves as an active participant in programs and exercises that promote continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates the preparation of budgets, financial statements, and all related activity. Ensures the division accounting procedures are in compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Responsible for the accurate reporting and interpretation of monthly and quarterly financial results, inclusive of Sales, COGS, SG&A, Balance Sheet. Ensure timely and accurate closing. Analyse and speak to Budget to Actual swings. Able to reconcile accounts in accordance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. Oversees the preparation of statistics for financial statements, including the analysis and reporting of results to provide forecasts and identify problem areas. Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the business unit. Makes specific recommendations to result in cost reduction and profit improvement. Develops financial data necessary for the preparation and evaluation of business plans and the allocation of funds. Establishes and implements related methods and procedures. Ensures the correct and accurate accounting classification of all expenditures and documents, providing timely, through evaluation of all CARs (capital expenditures). Signing authority on capital and expense purchases Prepares and monitors facility budget. Works interdepartmentally to monitor and manage expenditures to meet fiscal targets Manages, develops, trains, coaches, and evaluates the members of the accounting team. This includes conducting annual performance appraisals for all direct reports. Controller is exposed to a high level of confidential information inclusive of, product development information, target markets, human resource data, payroll information, pricing information, customer specifications, strategic planning information, financial plans and actual results prior to publication, and other data. Coordination of time and attendance system / labor reporting. Daily approval of time and attendance punches including pay codes. Provides advice and counsel to management regarding the organization’s major financial objectives and management fiscal policies.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Seven years minimum managerial experience in accounting and finance.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Ability to utilize a variety of advanced software applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Ability to develop and communicate a vision.
- Negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Financial understanding of all accounting functional areas.
- A working knowledge of US Federal income tax regulations, state taxation, and SEC reporting requirements
- A CPA is desired with 2-3 years’ experience in public accounting and/or publicly held companies.
- Previous BPCS/LX Experience a plus.
