Pre-Law Intern

Banyan Treatment Centers is looking for a qualified intern to join our Legal Department. Reporting to the VP of Legal, the intern will participate in and/or lead projects such as contract review and document management, process optimization and prioritization, and other similar efforts that benefit all or part of the Legal Department. 

In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to learn the inner workings of an in-house legal department, including the collaboration with outside law firms on legal matters, corporate structuring, formalities and documentation, and the unique means in which an in-house legal department uses to represent a large entity.

Position Details:

• Duration: 3 months.
• Schedule: Part-time; Flexible hours.
• Compensation: $23/hour.
• Location: Pompano Beach, FL 33062

Responsibilities:

• Upload contracts, assign users, customize folder systems, and manage, as needed, Banyan’s Contract Management System (CMS)
• Conduct research, as needed, using the internet or other sources of information.
• Assist with preparation of internal business communications, documents and/or processes.
• Review terms and financial information within contract.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary departments, such as Compliance, Finance, IT, Business Development, etc. 
• Assist with the delivery of CMS training materials to assigned Banyan Users

• Apply legal concepts to problems and issues within the industry.
• Understand the importance of contract management to the legal process and create value for the organization and stakeholders.
• Customize and manage a large contract management system.
• Understand the inner workings of an in-house Legal Department.
• Develop and maintain effective multi-disciplinary relationships at the corporate level.

Requirements:

• Must be a current student enrolled or recently graduated (graduation date no earlier than December 2025) at/from an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree. 
• A completed or in progress bachelor’s (fourth year) or master’s degree in Pre-Law, Legal Studies, Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related discipline preferred. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship or assistance from the company.
