CUSTOMER SERVICE DATA ENTRY SUPPORT SPECIALIST
In this position, you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for over 600 employees through our payroll database (Paycor). Other duties include but are not limited to; reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of approved timesheets, processing garnishments, and other special payroll deductions, perform payroll accounting and administrative duties including but not limited to setting up payroll account codes, processing payroll certifications, setting up voluntary deductions, processing and auditing payroll, auditing payroll reports, processing tax forms, and resolving payroll issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works under the direction of the Payroll Manager.
  • Performs tasks associated with the processing of payroll for assigned departments. Not limited to but including the input and verification of the following; new hires, E-Verification, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, work summary data, matrix update, pay rate changes,
retroactive adjustments, DOJ reimbursements, address changes, Certification training information, filing, and audit payroll reports each payroll cycle to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the training of Area Supervisors on how to process and submit payroll.
  • Work cooperatively with the Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Managers, Area Supervisors, Staff and Crossing Guards jointly to respond, research, and resolve inquiries/issues.
  • Performs administrative tasks not limited to but including processing new hire paperwork, background checks, processing Requests for Checks, Leave of Absences, and scanning/ filing all documents pertaining to the employees in your assigned departments.
  • Assist with client pricing as needed.
  • Answer Telephones.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager and Director of Administrative Services with any other tasks as needed, such as mass mailings, special projects, Employee Recognition, and the Annual Holiday Luncheon.

  • Ensures that payroll processing, timekeeping and data entries for assigned departments are performed at company standards and meet all company timelines.
  • Demonstrate the job knowledge and skills essential to effectively process payroll and billing in its entirety.
  • Consistently complete assigned duties in a professional manner in order to meet established deadlines.
  • Implement the appropriate solutions in a timely manner when solving problems for customers and employees.
  • Open to change and be able to adapt performance to meet the requirements of a changing work environment.
  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work well with others and handle constructive criticism.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Microsoft Excel, systems and database/query skills.
  • Must demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and dependable.
  • Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
COMPENSATION:
$17.00 - $23.00 an hour, depending on experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, pones, photocopiers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and minor lifting up to 15 pounds may be required.
