Raw Materials Buyer- Food Manufacturing
Job Summary:
Purchasing Manager or Raw Materials Buyer manages raw materials inventories to ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules. The PM/Buyer responsibilities include determining material specifications, creating and maintaining inventory schedules, coordinating with internal departments, and managing external stakeholder relations. A successful PM/Buyer should be able to ensure the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders.
- Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
- Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
- Negotiates, build relationships, and execute all domestic purchasing of raw materials
- Negotiates, builds relationships with vendor sources and executes all purchases for packaging materials
- In coordination with CEO, executes international raw materials purchases
- Works diligently with key stakeholders on material requirements planning, scheduling, and overall operations strategy.
- Coordinates closely with finance department on supplier payments planning.
- Track production volume and monitor customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.
- Schedule and oversee supply and delivery of materials and products.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to report, convey and communicate planning and purchasing.
- Experience in Manufacturing, specifically Food Manufacturing, strongly preferred.
- Experience with Sage preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and delegate.
- Excellent accountability and responsibility track record, highly skilled in planning and organizing.
Education and Training
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Associates or Bachelor’s in business, logistics, inventory management, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
- Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.

- The employee is often required to sit, and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type. The employee may need to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
