Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to join our accounting and finance team. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Senior Cost Accountant.
Critical job functions:
- Analyzing costs associated with construction projects.
- Tracking expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each job.
- Assist in Monthly Review of projects with the Project Managers
- Assist in posting monthly job accruals and Work in Progress review.
- Monitor expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each plant.
- Enter Daily Productions and reconcile discrepancies quarterly through inventory adjustments.
- Review intracompany inventory movements including proper transfer pricing.
- Assist in Cap Ex Budgeting and Annual Plant Budget Process
- Assist posting monthly plant accruals.
- Assist in scheduling inventory flyovers and report review for yearend adjustments.
- Assist in analyzing and establishing standard costs for produced materials.
- Regularly reviewing and updating cost standards.
- Collaborating with quality control teams to align bill of materials and review variances.
- Preparing cost-related reports for management.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Contributing to accurate financial statements.
- 10-15% travel required, based out of West Springfield office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required.
- Proficiency in cost accounting principles; construction industry preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and curious
- Very comfortable with Microsoft Office products including proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with Vista a plus
Education and Experience Required.
- Associates degree or higher in accounting or equivalent field experience
- 3-5 years of general accounting experience to include payroll, accounts payable or accounts receivable (internal applicants may be appointed with less than this)
