What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at Allegan AESA?
- Must meet health requirements of the State of Michigan (physical required)
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and have a clean driving record
- Must submit to a Criminal Background Check, as required by state law.
- Must have or be able to obtain a CDL license, include B, P, and S endorsements
- Comply with all traffic ordinances and laws governing the operating of a school vehicle
- Demonstrate proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus
- Participate in all required training and in-service
- Perform assigned duties within the scheduled time frame
- Perform and properly complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections of bus
- Responsible for cleanliness of bus interior and maintain a safe and barrier-free aisle
- Comply with district policies regarding student discipline and communication
- Displays professional behavior at all times while representing the school district

JOB GOALS: Responsible for the safe transportation of students of the Allegan Public School System. Other duties involve managing the operation of the school bus to ensure a safe and hazard-free environment for all students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma or GED

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor
TERMS: School year only - Substitute position currently with the possibility of a permanent route becoming available
SALARY: Training wages $13 per hour / Beginning wage for bus drivers is $17.50 and sub bus drivers is $19.63 per hour (prior years of experience may be granted)
BENEFITS: Per Agreement between the Allegan Public Schools and the Allegan Bus Drivers
