Position Title: Automotive Technology Instructor
Primary Function: To develop and implement an instructional program for automotive technology that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.
Qualifications:
1) Graduate of an approved teacher education program in automotive technology, and hold ASE Certification, or
2) A license or are certified as a professional practitioner in automotive technology, if applicable, or can demonstrate competency in the automotive technology trade, plus show evidence of at least two years of satisfactory occupational experience in the automotive technology trade within the past five years. Must have ASE certification.
Performance Responsibilities:
? To demonstrate a knowledge of the subject (Automotive Technology) being taught.
? To comply with school and school board policies and regulations.
? To exhibit evidence of effective lesson plans using the state competencies.
? To work cooperatively with the total staff.
? To relate positively to parents and other community representatives.
? To demonstrate professional growth.
? To be prompt and accurate with required records and reports.
? To accept responsibilities outside the classroom as they relate to the school.
? To use instructional and planning time effectively.
? To assume responsibility or care of materials, equipment and facilities.
? To assume responsibility for a neat, safe environment for students committed to the teacher’s care.
? To practice and promote positive interaction with and among students.
? To demonstrate interest in the student, encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students.
? To maintain an organized program of instruction based on long range plans.
? To communicate lesson objectives and its importance to students.
? To perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Contract: Ten Months (200 Days)
Salary Range: $41,132 - $62,307
