We are currently seeking a highly skilled Sr. Superintendent to oversee estate level projects and other production personnel throughout the Santa Barbara area. The ideal candidate will have deep building knowledge of high-end custom residential projects with ability to deliver exceptional finished products on time and on budget with a high level of client satisfaction.

Qualifications
POSITION TITLE: Senior Superintendent
PRIMARY PLACE OF WORK: Construction sites, division offices, and other locations as needed
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Directs/Supervises Superintendents, Project Foreman and field crews. Oversees multiple projects with a high degree of expertise. Responsible for mentoring and providing training to all Superintendents, Project Foreman and field crews within a department/pod. Holding direct reports accountable to tasks such as; daily activities on job sites, managing trade schedules, material deliveries, job site productivity, and quality control. Ensure job sites are being managed effectively and to Allen Construction standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
General Responsibilities /Essential Functions
- Supervise a project(s) as needed
- Supervise Superintendents and/or Project Foreman, providing training and mentorship as well as support and direction for promoting career development through mastery of core tasks
- Responsible for participating in interviewing candidates, delivering performance reviews
- Periodically review construction schedule and three-week look-ahead schedules
- Review plans and scope of work specifications. All projects must be constructed to follow contract and specifications.
- Conduct job site walks to ensure proper signage is posted on all job sites at all times, including the Allen signs, jobsite rules, as well as all legally required OSHA and labor law postings
- Provide oversight as needed to ensure job sites are safe, with clear identification and hazards protection. Work with Safety Manager to create safety inspections schedule and tailgate meetings
- Assist the completion of final punch lists
- Follow-up as needed to ensure a thorough understanding of each project and all contract requirements
- Involved with oversight of project close-out and final documentation
- Work with Pre-Construction team and Production Manager to review budgets, and estimates.
- Review RFIs, shop drawings and inspections when necessary or requested
- Maintain cordial interpersonal relationships with colleagues, management, clients and the public
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Respond to all cell phone calls and personal requests promptly
- Attend group, and other production meetings
- As listed in the Accountability Chart
- All other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or GED
- Fifteen (15) years of experience in construction, with at least ten (10) years functioning as a Superintendent at a commercial and/or residential construction company
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communications skills
- Able to compute basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans sets
- Technical understanding of residential construction, including codes, sequencing, and best building practices
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
- Able to gather information, prepare reports and properly communicate same
- Able to read, understand and interpret construction Change Orders, contracts and other job-related documents
- Experience with complex projects
- Familiar with building and construction legal terminology
- Demonstrate experience and passion for client satisfaction
DESIRABLE
- Bachelors degree
- Experience with Procore and/or MS Project preferred
- Ability to communicate in a second language, preferably Spanish

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts and includes occasional exposure to wet and/or humid and or cold conditions, and to vibration. Must be able to: stand, sit, squat, turn, bend, walk, climb stairs/ladders, operate telephone and computer, see, drive, speak, hear, write, and lift up to 50 pounds, work in extreme weather conditions outside.
