What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resource Director position at Allen Organ Company?
Looking for an experienced generalist to manage the daily activities of the HR department in a manufacturing environment including staffing, performance management, policy administration benefits, compensation, employee relations and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor staffing levels and recruitment. Conduct on-boarding of new employees.
- Manage professional relationships with search firms, temporary agencies, and employment referrals.
- Develop hiring criteria and conduct all required screenings.
- Manage benefits for the company. Coordinate annual benefits renewal with broker and plan annual open enrollment.
- Manage and administer paperwork for all leaves such as FMLA, approved medical leave, and STD/LTD.
- Conduct employee relations meetings and work toward resolution.
- Develop and distribute company HR Policies and employee handbook updates.
- Review employee discipline to ensure consistently applied rules. Conduct investigations and develop appropriate documentation of the incidents and employee meetings.
- Coach supervisory staff regarding employee issues with a focus on problem resolution and legal compliance.
- Provide legally required training for employees and research new training programs as requested.
- Administer quarterly and annual review system for the company.
- Monitor the compensation for the production departments ensuring competitive pay rates and equity.
- Must possess strong understanding of State and Federal employment laws, communicate with employment attorneys as needed and prepare reports.
- Facilitate accommodation meetings with employees to comply with ADA . Document and respond to accommodation requests.
- Manage and resolve issues with worker's compensation claims; Unemployment Compensation and government agencies.
- Report compliance including EEO-1, Vets 100, and OSHA 300.
- Supervise the Human Resources Assistant.
- Oversee weekly payroll submission, distribution and record keeping.
- Manage the Safety Committee including recruitment, annual application, training, and record keeping.
- Coordinate social activities such as Service awards and employee programs.
- Responsible for all legally required record keeping and administration of the OneCallNow data base.
Requirements:
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
- Must be able to commute to the company location in Macungie, Pennsylvania daily. No remote work is available.
- Must have minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing setting.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources is required. HR certification, SPHR or SHRM-SCP, is a plus.
- Position requires experience using HR software, Microsoft Office including Excel.
