What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auditor I/II position at ALLETE?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and performs routine to moderately complex audits or participates with teams performing audits of departments, financial statements, regulatory reports, potential acquisitions, contractors, operational controls and procedures assuring use of acceptable audit standards.
- Performs special assignments as directed
- Effective interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain productive working relationships and positively affect results.
- May serve as lead auditor on team audits.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Those graduating December of 2021 will also be considered
- Preferred areas of study include accounting, auditing, business, information systems, finance, or economics.
- Coursework in auditing, analytical areas, computer applications, and/or professional certification desirable.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Level I
- No experience required
Level II
- Four years directly related experience.
OR
- Three or more years of job related work experience PLUS certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Effective interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain productive working relationships and positively affect results.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
