JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
allgo seeks an experienced, visionary, progressive, and creative leader to fill the position of Executive Director (ED). This position is full-time and located in Austin,
Texas. More details including a full job description available at allgo.org/careers . allgo is a 35-year-old community-based organization by, for, and about LGBTQ people of color. allgo’s mission is to nurture and celebrate queer people of color by building, educating, and mobilizing communities toward a just and equitable society.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A radical vision for the future of LGBTQ people of color.
  • A progressive analysis of race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, health (especially with respect to HIV/AIDS) and immigration status.
  • A political commitment to LGBTQ people of color.
  • An understanding of the role of artists and their work in bringing about transformational change and healing.
  • Experience with non profit organizations.
  • A relationship to LGBTQ communities of color in the city of Austin, the state of Texas and/or throughout the U.S. South or Southwest.

allgo Executive Director Job Description

Scope: Provide primary administrative, fiscal and programmatic leadership, working closely with the Board of Directors and Staff to ensure the fulfillment of allgo’s mission. Build local and national relationships to increase the reach, impact, and effectiveness of the organization, cultivate mutual support, and stay at the forefront of organizing related to the organization's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Board to develop and maintain a clear vision and corresponding strategic plan to fulfill allgo’s mission.
  • Ensure effective and efficient stewardship of allgo's resources.
  • Supervise Program Coordinators and fiscal and administrative personnel.
  • Use strengths-based coaching approach to support the growth and development of staff.
  • Ensure implementation of agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide programmatic oversight of all program planning, implementation, measurement & evaluation, and documentation of progress in these areas.
  • Oversee the development of grassroots community organizing, coalition building, and community action.
  • Oversee development and implementation of multi-tiered fundraising strategies to support organizational mission and growth.
  • Oversee implementation of health programming within a racial and social justice framework and in compliance with agency standards of care.
  • Oversee implementation of cultural arts programming as central to racial and social justice work.
  • Oversee management of agency contracts and ensure fulfillment of all contract requirements and timely reporting.
  • Provide increased visibility and serve as a spokesperson for allgo locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Serve as liaison between the Board of Directors and Staff of the Organization
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors and Board Committees.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors to include financial statements, cash flow projections, the status of upcoming funding, and the status of all programs.
  • Provide fiscal oversight of accounting and bookkeeping for the agency.
  • Ensure fulfillment of legal and ethical requirements related to maintaining non-profit status.
  • Lead fundraising efforts including development of donor relationships.
  • Manage and expand organizational budget
  • Represent allgo at public events and in the media
  • Advise and advocate within local and national government relations efforts
  • Build coalitions with other LGBTQ , racial justice, and non-LGBTQ social justice organizations.

Qualifications: Lived experience with LGBTQ communities of color. Minimum 3-5 years of non-profit leadership; a broad and deep understanding of racial and
LGBTQ justice and how it affects LGBTQ people of color in the city of Austin, the state of Texas and on the national level; experience with coalition-building with multi-racial and multi-classed organizations; experience working with qpoc artists and leading cultural arts programming; experience with HIV/AIDS activism and HIV communities as well as with holistic health for people of color more generally; and strong writing and public speaking skills.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $70k-$80k
Benefits: Health Insurance, Vacation and Sick leave, Holidays

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
