Job Description
The Veterinary Regional Manager will be responsible for overseeing each individual practice manager and leading the hospitals across Alliance Animal Health’s network of veterinary hospitals in our growing region of the Carolinas. You will work with the Regional Director, the Vice President of Operations, the Veterinary Partner Doctors and Practice Managers to enhance performance at their respective hospitals. You will also work with the Internal Operations team to lead implementation of initiatives and projects at the hospitals in your region.
You will also be expected to grow with the region as Alliance Animal Health adds partner hospitals to the region.
Role & Responsibilities:
Leadership and management:
- Directly responsible for overseeing and leading the practice managers at each hospital.
- Responsible for working directly with the practice managers on the operations at the hospital, including staffing, inventory, budgeting, employee and client scheduling, marketing, employee training, and human resources.
- Act as a key resource and partner to the managing veterinarian at each location and responsible for building a strong relationship with that doctor. Also responsible for partnering with them on the work you are doing with the practice manager and incorporating their feedback and goals in your work with each practice.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Operations to review the financial reports with the practice leadership team and develop strategies for each practice.
- Responsible for reviewing the non-financial reports (inventory budgets; scheduling budgets) and driving plans of improvement based on the results.
- Responsible for the post-acquisition integration process for newly acquired clinics.
- Expected to travel to the practices 4 days per week and have 1 office day (but could be at practices 5 days a week as needed).

- Strong communication, team-building and leadership skills
- Highly organized and able to manage time effectively
- 3 years of experience managing multiple locations for a multi-site operator in the veterinary, dental or medical industries;
- Self-starter that is excited to work in an entrepreneurial environment and can take initiative
- Strong analytical skills and experience reviewing budgets and financial statements
- Proficient with full suite of Microsoft office products
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
- Satisfactory passing of criminal background & motor vehicle checks
- Must live within or be willing to relocate to the NC/SC market

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.
Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.)
Client needs and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request.
Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.
