Job Summary
A key role in a large and growing physician practice with twenty locations in north Georgia. Responsibilities require direct telephone, email and fax communication with patients and referring offices to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided in an efficient and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute a clearly defined workflow to process outbound imaging orders for all patients
- Ability to handle 100 inbound imaging orders a day with accuracy
- Assist in scheduling STAT imaging orders for the patient and following up with the patient and the clinic to advise of appointment details
- Communicate directly with patients, imaging, facilities, and our physicians
- Obtain appropriate signatures and orders for radiological exams
- Enter notes/special instructions for scheduling in electronic medical record
- Understanding of insurance types and benefits
- Must be able to maintain imaging orders to under 24 hours.
- Needs to have an understanding of different types of medical documents.
- Must be able to work efficiently and with limited supervision
- Obtain any missing documents, follow guidelines, save imaging orders and notes to the patient’s chart
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Skills/Certifications
- At least 1 years’ experience in a medical office preferred
- Complies with all HIPPA standards
- Able to operate independently, in a self-directed manner, with detail, accuracy, and focus
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Comfortable interacting and working well with physicians and other medical professionals
- Able to resolve problems involving several variables
- Experience working a regularly scheduled shift where lunch and break times are assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
