Job Title: Machine Operator Pay Grade: Walker Hourly Job Description: Primary Purpose of Role: A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits. Key Responsibilities: Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws Keep records of approved and defective units or final products Maintain activity logs Other duties assigned by supervisor or lead. Ability to use required personal protective safety equipment and follow safety rules. Ability to read and understand operating procedures relative to job being performed. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Repeatedly handles castings weighing up to 30-35 lbs. (For castings weighing more than this amount hoists are used). Repeatedly positions parts weighing up to 90 lbs. Ability to bend, twist, turn side to side. Experience: Ability to follow standard operating procedures, work instructions and safety rules. Ability to maintain the normal flow of production.
