Job Title: Senior Project Engineer Job Description: In this role, you will be a valuable part of the team by: Provide subject matter expertise to a team of engineers in the areas of robust mechanical design and validation requirements development. Specify, develop and validate electronic devices and related electrical interface components. Conduct system integration with electrical, mechanical, and control systems engineering teams. Investigate reliability and durability performance and initiate corrective actions as required. Perform root cause failure analysis on electrical systems. Prepare and release engineering technical documents. Provide product technical support to suppliers, customers and other Allison departments. Identify and develop opportunities for product improvements and cost reduction. Prepare and present technical status reports, schedules, and budgets for a variety of audiences To be successful in this role you will need the following: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline. Master of Science preferred 5-10 years of experience with developing electronic control system hardware Ability to solve problems, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-functional setting Some Travel Preferred: Validation Plan and DVP&R Development Automotive and Commercial Vehicle applications Vehicle and component-level mechanical (vibration and shock) and thermal durability expertise Primary Location: Indianapolis, IN Additional Locations: Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
