Analytical Chemist / QA Technician is responsible for the inspection and testing of materials to ensure production requirements are met, and accurate reporting of all products generated to meet internal and external customer specifications. You will work both independently as well as part of a team.

Essential Job Duties:
- Perform metallurgical QC testing including preparing and mounting sample cross-sections, microscopy and microstructure analysis, and measurement of physical material characteristics via optical comparator, hardness test, tensile test, conductivity, SEM/EDS, and others as needed.
- Perform chemical analysis utilizing spectroscopy instrumentation for major and trace element determinations, and gravimetric determinations on precious metals and other elements.
- Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate analyses for the support of production and development of products.
- Document and report test results, including preparing material certifications for internal release to manufacturing, and conformance for finished goods.
- Responsible for the control, maintenance, and improvements of existing test methods, equipment, and calibration requirements to guarantee accuracy and precision.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Implement new tests and techniques for emerging requirements or product technology. Evaluate and determine procedures as well as perform testing for nonroutine samples.
- Support the verification and effectiveness of our Quality Management System through manufacturing and quality audits.
- Proper labelling and disposal of hazardous waste material in conjunction with EH&S to ensure OSHA regulations are followed.
- Support ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (EH&S) Management System Processes.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS in Chemistry or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Prior experience with analytical and metallurgical testing in a manufacturing environment preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, analyze, and interpret data, and compile reports.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SAP B1)
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
